Unofficial Ninja Tune Sampler
Ninja Tune shaped my brain. They blew open the doors of loads of genres, that I just hadn’t heard before. Riding the Ninja Tune wave, I found a love of jazz, instrumental hip hop, IDM, funk, soul, drum ‘n’ bass, breakbeat, and tons more.
They’ve been running for many years now, but I lost track of what they were up to, so this is my reconnecting with my roots. Digging deep into what Ninja Tune have been putting out in the last few years, and trying to make it sing together!
I’d also like to point out the butchery impromptu remix of Black Country, New Road’s famous Track X, by Hadron Colliding it into Bicep’s Chroma 008 Tangz was inspired by Coldcut’s 90 Minutes of Madness JDJ mix (the Junior Reid goes jungle moment). But that may not be an adequate excuse!
You tell me.
